An additional ninth century vertical traveling flag could be the raven banner which was employed widely through the Vikings. Whilst no finish illustration of the banner exists, it almost certainly seems on Northumbrian coins from the beginning of the century and afterwards, from the eleventh century, is most likely seen about the Bayeux Tapestry.[2
